I uploaded my first video onto YouTube! This is a quick tutorial on how I like to use my sketchbook, with some materials that may be of interest! Please check it out if you'd like some help on getting started or continuing with your own sketching endeavors!

Project Reflection: My goal for this video was to reach out to those struggling with their own sketchbook. Whether they are new to drawing, or are simply going through a head space where sketching has become intimidating, I wanted to create this video in hopes of giving more peace of mind. I wanted to share my own experiences, and walk through my own process as I have felt watching other's process often helps me get out of my own headspace.

I chose to show my entire sketching process, with narration both as I worked and audio recorded over the longer sections, to give the viewer someone to listen to and to give some general advice. The pacing I focused on just walking through the process, so how I personally start out on a new sketchbook, and talking about my materials as I went along so there would be enough time to show my entire process. I went simple on the visuals, with simple captions emphasizing main points and listing materials used, so that the viewer can focus more on the narration in hopes they may be taking notes or drawing alongside me.

My hopes was to simply ease the tension of the viewer, giving them someone that understands what they are going through, and simply giving some more open advice that they may not have tried before just to get started again. There were no specific instructions in this video, simply a guidance on how I manage my own sketchbook and headspace to make it easier for me to work. This is the overall message I want to continue to share, as I don't want art to be scary for people, but simply something they can express themselves through and explore.
